CRISPY CRUNCH BOMB MANCHURIAN BITES

The snack that hits different. Golden crispy bites tossed in a sticky, tangy Manchurian glaze ready in 20 minutes and impossible to stop eating.

Ingredients

For the Crispy Bites:

  • 200g cauliflower florets or paneer, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 4 tbsp cornflour
  • 2 tbsp plain flour
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • Oil for frying

For the Manchurian Glaze:

  • 3 tbsp Khao Chi Manchurian Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Khao Chi Dark Soy Sauce
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 tsp cornflour mixed with 1 tbsp water

To Serve:

  • Spring onions, finely sliced
  • Sesame seeds, toasted
  • Fresh coriander
  • Sliced red chilli

Method

  1. Step 1 – Coat the Bites
    Heat oil in a deep pan or wok until very hot. Fry the coated pieces in batches for 3-4 minutes until deeply golden and crispy. Drain on kitchen paper and season lightly with salt.
  2. Step 2 - Fry Until Golden
    Heat oil in a wok or deep pan on high flame. Add garlic and ginger, sauté until aromatic and slightly golden.
  3. Step 3 - Make the Manchurian Glaze
    In a pan fry garlic and ginger for 1 minute until fragrant. Add Khao Chi Manchurian Sauce, Dark Soy Sauce, rice vinegar, honey and water. Simmer for 2 minutes. Stir in cornflour mixture and cook until thick and glossy.
  4. Step 4 - Toss & Coat
    Add the crispy bites into the glaze and toss until every piece is fully coated and sticky. Remove from heat immediately.
  5. Step 5 - Finish & Serve
    Pile onto a plate, scatter with spring onions, sesame seeds, fresh coriander and sliced chilli. Serve immediately while hot and crispy.
